Art Faces : Portrait Drawings

Art was always a fascination in my formative years at school, having taken Art as an extra subject for my Rhodesian, now known as Zimbabwe, Public examinations, and being confined to only one lesson per week hardly equipment my desires of making Art a full-time career.

However, I found in my later years that when the speed of a busy Financial profession began to take a slower semi-retired pace, my energies and focus renewed my deep down feeling that it was time to express my skills to drawing.
A quick one week refresher course of Acrylic and Oil mixed medium by South African and Internationally known Artist, Dale Elliot in Knysna, Western Cape, South Africa, got me on the road and motivated again. Plenty of reading the many available Art books and visiting numerous Art Galleries has reinforced my inspiration.
The cunning disguise and camouflage of the Burchell Zebra was the beginning of my move towards Portrait Art. Without compromising the Zebra wildlife drawings, my patience and leaning towards detail definitely made me decide to progress to the challenges of drawing the human face that can tell so many different stories from infinite expressions.

My medium is currently graphite pencil, water colour and Pastel
